Because it has some of the same ingredients (anandamid) as cannabis! We all know how addictive chocolate is and now we know why! It’s not a bad thing. You’d have to eat like 15Kg of dark choco to get as high as the drug. Dark chocolate has 2-3 times more of cannabinoids than milk choco.
There are a lot of reasons why you should switch milk choco to dark. Dark chocolate has less sugar and calories. It has magnesium that is good for the muscles, among other things. We all know how chocolate helps a broken heart; it actually works physically for the heart, making it stronger. Dark chocolate affects us by relaxing; calming and making us feel positive and uplifting. With milk chocolate the milk and sugar dim these effects to very minimum.
All of the above is no news to any of the chocoholics. But now we have more reasons to NOT feel guilty while having our chocolaty pleasures. To maximize the feel good-effect, dip strawberries in melted dark choco. You know you want to. It’s not just for couples either. It’s a good treat for a woman trying to lift her spirits and relax. And strawberries are dehydrating so you’ll feel less blowded afterwards. There is no down-side!

How to ease your PMS blues
Eat dark chocolate. Melt it and dip strawberries in it. For reasons told above. Also, there’s no harm in having peanuts in your chocolate. Peanuts have vitamin B –which lifts the spirit- and Vitamin E –which helps the PMS pains- so they are a pretty good treat to be having when you feel like crying, screaming, hitting and laughing at the same time. So there: dark chocolate, berries and peanuts – your allowed treats.
Doing sports regularly 3 times a week takes away 2/3 of the PMS symptoms because it apparently affects the hormones in our bodies. Oh boy, after all these good news we learn we really should do sports after all. Just one more reason to do so. Who wouldn’t want to loose their PMSing crap! Run! Ride a bike! Walk! Move the way you like to move, do it 1-2 hours at a time and 3 times a week, and you’ll feel better. Possibly also loose weight. There really isn’t any down side for this either. We only need to find the motivation. Isn’t loosing PMS symptoms motivation enough?

Can you tell I’ve been going thru some of my old fitness magazines today? I also got inspired to do some exercises I’ve saved in the digibox (TiVo). I did 30 minutes of yoga and 30 minutes of mid-body workout. Sports really do make me feel better. Easier to breathe and my butt always feels firmer right after workout. Why do I slack in this stuff so easily?
